An eight gallon container
An eight gallon container is full and both a three gallon container and a five gallon container are empty. Without using any other containers, divide the water into two equal amounts.

fill up the 3 ltr. container from 8 ltr. container, then fill up the 5 ltr. container from 3 ltr.,
now 5 ltr. container have 3 ltr. oil, 3 ltr. container is empty & 8 ltr. container have 5 ltr. oil.
now again fill the 3 ltr. container from 8 ltr. container, and then fill the 5 ltr. container from 3 ltr. container, but 5 ltr. container allready have 3ltr. oil. so we can pour only 2 ltr. in it.
so now u have 1 ltr. oil in 3 ltr. container.
now u fill the 8 ltr. container from 5 ltr. container.
hthis time u have 1 ltr. oil in 3 ltr. container, 7 ltr. in 8 ltr. container & empty 5 ltr. container.
now pour the 1 ltr. oil into 5 ltr. container from 3 ltr. container, and again fill the 3 ltr. container from 8 ltr. container whos have 7 ltr. oil.
now u have 4 ltr. in 8 ltr. container.
fill up the 3 ltr. container from 8 ltr. container, then fill up the 5 ltr. container from 3 ltr.,
now 5 ltr. container have 3 ltr. oil, 3 ltr. container is empty & 8 ltr. container have 5 ltr. oil.
